Rain on your wedding day? On a December day in Wales it’s almost guaranteed!
We first met Sonia whilst photographing her sister Anna’s wedding to Tony back in 2007 when Sonia was a bridesmaid.
Next April she’ll be the Bride.

Katherine & Sharad

Thanks to Lou at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings for featuring Katherine and Sharad’s wedding(s) on her blog.
Make a cup of tea, get comfortable and take a look. Katherine wrote a lot!

The title is a famous advertising slogan by Kodak. Think it sums photography up nicely.
Hello,
Hope this finds you all happy and well.
Can you believe Rhodri & I have just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary :) We reminisced and had a look through our album again and just wanted to let you know that we are still both so very grateful.
You captured the day completely, it’s fabulous and everyone who sees it agrees.
Many thanks again and best wishes.
Claire & Rhodri xx
Happy anniversary guys.

Thanks to Alexis for featuring Danny and Anna’s ‘elopement’ wedding on her blog, OMG I’m Getting Married.
There’s nothing like a stunning castle backdrop to make a bride feel like a princess on her wedding day. Introducing the beautiful couple, Danny and Anna, who eloped to Wales for a small, intimate wedding in the gorgeous Castel Coch. They travelled all the way from a small mining town in Queensland, Australia together with their two wonderful kids, Anna’s mother, father and grandmother to celebrate their vows and then went back home for an “elopement” BBQ in Australia. Talk about romance and adventure! Thanks so much to Jon from Janda Photography for sharing these photos, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous and I love juxtaposition of Anna’s beautiful wedding dress against the hard brick walls of the castle.
Advice from the Bride:
Just keep in mind that your wedding is about you as a couple, and the love you share.Best decision made:
Our photographers. You walk away from the day with your memories, your life partner, and your photos. Your wedding day will be special for you forever, however your memories of the day will fade. Our beautiful photo’s will allow us relive our day forever.
Wise words indeed ;)

Sharad & Katherine : Part 2
Busy wedding photographers meet hundreds of new people every week. Getting along with everyone is a prerequisite for the job and we pride ourselves on our tag line “it’s like having friends who are professional photographers.”
However, every once in a while we meet a couple that are that little bit special, a couple that we hope will become our friends for a long time into the future. Katherine and Sharad are such a couple.
After our engagement portrait stay over at their Bath farmhouse, Katherine and Sharad flew us to Udaipur, the city known as India’s “wedding central”, for the first part of their wedding weekend. Only joking, setting was far more glamourous: Splott in Cardiff.
Never been to an Indian Ceremony before. It was mesmerising. Here’s a summary.
Everyone dresses in beautiful colours and fabrics. Groom takes his top off. A coconut gets tickled. Brother of bride convinces groom to take his sister by offering him some apples. Groom hides behind orange sheet. Brides father washes grooms feet with milk. Bride and groom finally see each other and wipe their faces with leaves. Bride is showered with gifts and jewellery. Bride is showered with yellow rice. Bride and groom shower each other with rice. Garlands are exchanged. More rice and flower petals are deposited on each others heads. Couples outfits are knotted together, never to be separated. Everyone has a wonderful time. The buffet is delicious.
Like I said, I’m no expert. Take a look, see what you make if it :)
It’s always a thrill when couples choose us, over the 1000′s of other photographers, to be part of their special day, and document it for all time. It was extra special with Danny and Anna. They travelled all the way from a small mining town in Queensland, Australia together with their two wonderful kids, Anna’s mother, father and grandmother. So, the couple, their kids and 3 guests. An intimate wedding.
Even after years working as a professional wedding photographer I still get excited, and a little nervous, before each wedding. It’s healthy I think, on such an important day we endeavour to make this the best wedding we’ve ever photographed. Actually, I was feeling more than a little nervous as Angela and I stood outside Castel Coch waiting to meet Danny and Anna. With the distances involved we’d never met, and only had one conversation on the phone. What would they be like? With such a small bridal party and hours together, just the 4 of us, would we get on?
Need not have worried. They were perfect. Beautiful in every way. Days like this make us feel proud and privileged. Days like this are why we do this job. Danny and Anna, thank you for choosing us.

Welsh lifestyle magazine WM approached us wanting to use our pictures for their real wedding feature. Both of us hail from South Wales (and are very patriotic :) so we were more than happy to help.
