We always say that the wedding day flies by and encourage the couple to enjoy every moment. Ben and Tracey did exactly that.

This was our first wedding not shot exclusively on Canon cameras. Our new Olympus OM-D performed well, and will be along for the ride on future weddings.

I’ve never seen anything quite like the WeddingOlympics. In the first event the girls had to pass a golf ball up one leg of the mens trousers, and down the other. Not sure why it always got stuck at the top, but the guys certainly seemed to enjoy it ;)

Rocca Visconteo Veneta (Lonato Castle) is a wonderful venue for an open air wedding. With 360 degree views across the Veneto and Lombardy countryside, it’s breath taking. Thanks to Rachel and Mirco for inviting me to their celebration, and to Rebecca and her team for providing some wonderful food and organisation. Viva Italia!

We travelled out to Lake Garda and met up the day before their wedding at Rocca di Lonato to shoot their engagement portraits and arranged to meet up in the picturesque town of Sirmione. A very popular tourist destination set on a peninsular to the south of Lake Garda. It was bustling with day trippers, and very hot (30+ degrees), but we managed to find a few deserted side streets and cool shady gardens to take pictures, and to chat and get to know each other before the big day.

It’s the first time we’ve stayed in Sirmione and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the family run Hotel Marconi, right in the centre of the old town. Although driving through the narrow streets full of tourists is not for the faint hearted.

Sasha and Jonathan travelled all the way down from Sheffield for their engagement portrait on the Sussex Riviera. For a change this summer the Riviera lived up to it’s name and the sun was shining.

We introduced them to the whole Janda family, because we’ll all be travelling out to the South of France for their wedding in June 2013. Their intimate ceremony attended by 50 of their nearest and dearest will take place at Chateaux Massillan in Uchaux, Provence.

We have two weddings in Lake Garda the month before so it looks like we’ll be on a the Janda Grand Tour of Europe next year. Could be a good excuse to buy a camper van ;)

We shot James and Rachel’s wedding at Amberley Castle back in August 2008. So we were thrilled when Chris, James’ brother, and Christine contacted us and asked if we would capture their wedding day at Goodwood House later this year. Obviously we said yes.

Our first visit to Compton Acres in Poole to meet up with Claire and Dale for their engagement portrait. What a great place. Lots of individually themed gardens with an Italian styled villa at the centre. The prefect romantic venue for a south coast wedding, it reminded us a little of Portmeirion in our native Wales.

We took the whole Janda clan along with us, so after the shoot Angela and I spent hours exploring the gardens with Freja and Felix.

And a rare sight this summer; Sunshine!

It’s like spending the day with old friends. Each of their weddings has been very different in design, but with one common factor.
